👋 Who We Are

TownData.co.uk is a free UK local area data website founded by Christian Pearson, based in Chester, England. The site was built with one clear goal — to make it easy for anyone in the UK to find accurate, comprehensive data about any town or village in the country, all in one place.

We are not a property portal, an estate agent, or a faceless corporate website. We are an independent resource run by someone who understands what people really want to know when they're researching an area — whether they're planning a house move, choosing a school, or simply curious about where they live.

Every data point on TownData comes directly from official UK government sources — ONS, HM Land Registry, Ofsted, Police.uk, Ofcom, NHS Digital, DEFRA and the Met Office. No estimates, no guesswork, no sponsored content.

📖 The Story Behind TownData.co.uk

Christian Pearson is an engineer by profession and a children's book writer by passion. Like many people, he found that when researching a place to live, the information he needed was scattered across dozens of different government websites — house prices on one site, school ratings on another, crime stats on a third.

"I built TownData because I realised there was no single place where you could look up everything you'd want to know about a UK town before moving there. House prices, schools, crime, broadband, transport — you had to visit six different government websites to piece it all together. TownData fixes that. One search, one page, everything you need."
— Christian Pearson, Founder, Chester, England

With a background in engineering and a passion for data, Christian built TownData to bring all of that information together in a single, clean, easy-to-read page for every town and village in the UK. The result is a site that covers over 50,000 UK settlements — from major cities to tiny hamlets — with data refreshed automatically from official sources.

TownData is the natural extension of that idea — giving everyone access to the same quality of local information, whether they're moving from London to the Cotswolds, or just curious about the village down the road.
