Glenarm is the most southerly of the Antrim Glens villages — a small, characterful village at the mouth of the Glenarm River dominated by Glenarm Castle, seat of the Earls of Antrim and the oldest inhabited castle in Ireland, home to the MacDonnell family for over 400 years. The castle's magnificent Walled Garden is one of the finest in Ireland. The annual Glenarm Castle International Highland Games in July draw competitors from across the UK, Ireland and North America.
The beautiful Glenarm Glen stretches inland through ancient woodland — one of the most beautiful glen walks in the Antrim Glens. The historic harbour was one of the busiest on the Antrim coast in the 18th century.
